It was awesome to meet my fellow FRB bloggers at the blog party - thanks Michelle, Tarzan, Sunnyrun, CanadianFlash for your advice and support!  Here it is Monday already, and I'm just getting a chance to write the race report.  I had to leave soon after the race finish to check out of the hotel and head back to LV to turn in the rental car.  I was also really cold and could not find my car, but that's another story...

Yes!  I qualified for Boston - my BQ was 4:00:59, and I finished SGM in 3:49:19! Without injury - just sore quads. Thank you Sasha for the excellent training plan - it really DOES work!  Thanks, Michelle, for your encouragement and feedback along the way!  Congratulations on your excellent finish!

I'll write more detail later. Already sent in the application for Boston.

Hey Nicki, so glad got a huge PR and a BQ. You've had alot of great races this year, so just add this to the list. Already headed to Boston.

So sorry we couldn't give you better weather. So did you drive to LV in your race clothes? I can't imagine you doing that without coming down with hypothermia or a cold. It was so nice to meet you and talk at the get together and I wish we could have done more. Guess we'll stay blogging buddies :)

I was very nice to meet you and sorry you traveled all that way to run in such crapy weather. But none the less you quilifed with time to spare. Great job!!

Thanks Michelle. I was able to get back to the hotel(teeth chattering all the way), and take a shower before heading back to LV. I was soooo cold at the end of the race and then couldn't find my car because it looked totally different in the daylight than at 4:45 am! At that point was just desperate to warm up but ended up walking around a lot to find the car. Yes, I'm sorry there was not time to do more too. Josse - it was really nice to meet you and all the bloggers who were there - Congratulations on your race!

Congratulations on a BQ. The weather did not make it easy, but you were fit, so it did not matter. I suppose you did not need to do it in St. George after all, but it was nice that you got to meet the bloggers. We got to the party late. Too bad we did not get to meet you.

Thanks, Sasha. The cool weather seemed to help. It was fun and a beautiful course! I enjoyed meeting everyone and sorry I missed meeting you and your family. So a question - I have 1 half marathon in Nov. that is part of the road race series, and then St. Jude (full or half) is the first weekend in Dec. Is it prudent to only do the half for St. Jude or go for the full marathon?

From Sasha Pachev on Mon, Oct 20, 2008 at 12:24:38

Nikki:

I would play it safe and just run the half. Unless you have a compelling reason, I think it would be wise to keep it to one marathon a year.
