This is a great 10K race in Corinth, MS.  Beautiful course, well-supported, lots of local enthusiasm.  I won my age group last year in 50:46.  This year, I won my age group in 48:01.  That's a PR for me for 10K!  I am so happy about it!  The other great aspect of the race is prize money three deep in the age groups above 25 years old. So, finished with a PR, age group win, and in the money...who could ask for a better race day?

Ooooh, how nice! PR and money! Now you are a professional athlete. You can't ever say you are an amateur again!

Good job! I found the course to be a bit tough, especially with the heat. I was WAY off of my goal time and mentally gave in at 3 miles. I guess your prize money went towards gas money, right?

From aroundthebend on Mon, May 19, 2008 at 18:16:31

Thanks, Mike. Yes, it certainly helped pay for the gas, round-trip! Yes, my legs were pretty sore the next day, and the hills were a little tougher than I rememberd them from last year. It's always a fun race, though!
