It's my birthday!  What a nice day; my co-workers and friends brought sweets and stopped by throughout the work day, and my kids took me out to dinner right after work.  It was fun.  I usually celebrate with a birthday run, but there was really no opportunity to run today.

Ordered new running shoes online, hoping that will help with the heel pain; they should be here within the next week.  Am I supposed to be alternating between two pairs of running shoes?  Is there really any benefit to that, and should they be the same brand/style of shoes, just alternating days or different type of shoes?

Happy Birthday! My wife says that I have shoe fetish. I rotate many pairs of shoes, but all Nikes. I started wearing Nikes just because I lived near an outlet store. Now, I wear them because they work and I don't want to switch brands. I also limit the mileage on them to 400-500 miles. Sasha, on the other hand, puts well over 1000 miles on his and doesn't get injured.

Thanks, Mike. LOL - it is usually the woman who has the shoe fetish! But I suppose all runners really should have one. I've worn Nikes in the past - some have worked really well. Looks like I'll be wearing the Nikes i use for casual days until the new shoes come in and will pay more attention to the shoe mileage from now on. : )
